Whangarei Coastal Commuter runs a daily dive shuttle from locations around Whangarei to the Tutukaka Marina and back again in the afternoon. This service is available for advance bookings only. Pick up and drop off can be anywhere in the Whangarei City area, Glenbervie or on the Tutukaka Coast.

The Tutukaka Shuttle is also available to non-divers who wish to travel to other Tutukaka Coast destinations e.g. Matapouri and Whale Bay, Ngunguru, Sandy Bay or the Tutukaka Marina.
Dive Shuttle Times
Morning Shuttles
1. Pick up from Whangarei: 7.15am – 7.30 am depending on your location
Arrival time at the Tutukaka Marina: 8am
2. Pick up from Tutukaka or Ngunguru: 8:15am
Arrival time in Whangarei: 9am
Afternoon Shuttles
1. Pick up from Whangarei (Intercity Bus terminal (Town Basin)/Pak n Save Supermarket):
Pick up times by arrangement.
Travel time to Tutukaka approx 40 mins
Please note that if you need to travel at other times we can arrange your transport for you on a one-off basis as a “Special Trip”.
Dive Shuttle Costs
Single Traveller: $50 each way
Pick-up and drop-off to the Whangarei Airport or Matapouri have an additional charge of $10 per person.
The above costs are applicable to the daily Dive Shuttle times only. See below for the special one-off trip costs to/from Tutukaka.
A Day on the Coast Costs
A day trip to Matapouri (Walk, swim and chill out at Whale Bay and Matapouri)
$120 per person return trip.
Pick up and drop off times by arrangement.
Special Trip Costs
Up to 2 Travellers: $60 one way
Additional Travellers: $30 per person
Pick-up and drop-off to the Whangarei Airport or Matapouri have an additional charge of $10 per person.
If you wish to return on the Dive Shuttle the cost is $30pp for the return journey. If you wish to travel at any other time then the special trip one way rates apply.
